Description
A Fine Early 19th-Century Danish Writing Table with Royal Cypher, circa 1815
A superb early 19th-century Danish writing table in finely faded maple, inlaid and bound with brass, resting on elegant lyre-shaped supports terminating in brass castors. The rectangular top features a gilt-tooled leather writing surface above drawer with original brass mounts and handles. Decorative ormolu mounts enrich the apron and supports, including anthemion, foliate, and lyre motifs – a refined blend of Danish Neoclassicism and Empire style elegance.
