Giorgos Charidemos (Greek, 1924-1996)
A pair of two ceramic hand-painted lamps and hand-painted lampshades decorated with Karagiozis figures. The bases are formed as traditional pitchers and are adorned with folk-inspired motifs, drawing from Greek popular art and shadow theatre imagery. Particularly notable are the painted scenes featuring figures reminiscent of Karagiozis, alongside stylised floral and geometric patterns. The lampshades are also hand-painted. Both pieces are signed in Greek and dated 1985 the lampshades are also signed in Greek.
