Takis (Panayiotis Vassilakis) (Greek, 1925–2019) (AR)
Pendentif Magnétique (Magnetic Pendant)
Bronze, magnet, and nails. Diameter: approx. 5.30 cm. Signed Takis.
Accompanied by presentation box and leather cord, designed to be worn as a pendant.
A magnetic pendant composed of a polished brass disc attracting a cluster of steel nails, held in suspension by an invisible magnetic field. A small-scale kinetic sculpture that transforms magnetic energy into a visible sculptural composition.
Takis, a pioneer of kinetic and magnetic art, explored the tension between visible and invisible forces, transforming scientific phenomena into poetic form. This piece encapsulates his enduring fascination with magnetism as both material and metaphor.
