A collectible historical sports memorabilia pennant representing the USSR (CCCP) National Basketball Team, associated with the historic EuroBasket 1987 tournament held in Athens, Greece.
The pennant features the official CCCP insignia alongside “HELLAS ’87,” referencing the European Basketball Championship of 1987, widely regarded as one of the most iconic tournaments in European basketball history, culminating in Greece’s legendary victory over the Soviet Union in the final.
The reverse side bears multiple original ink signatures attributed to members of the USSR national team roster. Based on numerical analysis, the autographs are consistent with key players of the era, including prominent figures such as Šarūnas Marčiulionis, Alexander Volkov, Valdis Valters, and Valeri Tikhonenko, among others.
Condition: Visible signs of age and use, including minor fading of signatures, light discoloration of the fabric, and wear consistent with its age.
