    Description

    Takis (Panayiotis Vassilakis) (Greek, 1925-2019)

Pendentif Magnétique (magnetic pendant), bronze, magnet, nails. Diameter approx. 5 cm.

    Signed Takis.

Magnetic pendant composed of a polished brass disc attracting a cluster of steel nails, held in place by an invisible magnetic field. A small-scale kinetic sculpture transforming magnetic energy into a visible, sculptural composition. Takis, a pioneer of kinetic and magnetic art, explored the tension between visible and invisible forces, transforming scientific phenomena into poetic form. This pendant encapsulates his fascination with magnetism as both material and metaphor.
