Description
A rare pair of imaginative insect sculptures by the renowned Greek goldsmith and jeweler Ilias Lalaounis
Each piece showcases the artist’s distinctive blend of ancient inspiration and modernist craftsmanship.
The first figure, resembling a stylized fly, is composed of a rose quartz body, clear quartz eyes, and a lapis lazuli abdomen, mounted on finely crafted 800 silver legs and wings. The second, a surreal crustacean-like insect, features a sodalite core with 800 silver legs and garnet eyes.
These unique creations exemplify Lalaounis’ fascination with nature and organic form, reinterpreted through the lens of Greek artistry and sculptural design.
