Persian Panoply 18th/19th century
Lot comprissing of a helmet or casque, a shield, a spear and an arm brace.
Made with iron and inlayed decorated with silver and gilt with mythic images.
The shield bears a wound in the middle; the gold on the spear is clear whereas on the other accessories is cantly distinguished.
The panoply as a whole presents an exceptional and fine elaboration.
It has expressions and wishes towards Allah to live the Sultan.
Wear due to age and use.
Helmet: H. 30 cm (without the chains). Diameter: 20 cm.
The helmet has an iron nose protector that comes down.
Shield: 46,5 cm diameter.
Spear: 55 cm length.
Arm brace: L. 30 cm. Width varries from 9,5 to 7 cm.
