Also featured are Nikos Alexiou’s “Monastery of Iviron” (2007) — one of the few surviving works from his Mount Athos series — and Konstantinos Volanakis’s “Departure”, a small yet sensitive seascape by the “father of Greek seascape painting.”
Wristwatches & Timepieces
The Fine Watches section includes rare timepieces such as a Patek Philippe 18K gold wristwatch with original 1980 service papers from the Athens dealer Apostolakis, and a Longines 18K gold pocket watch sold in 1929 by P. Zenetos Frères, complete with its original box and receipt — a remarkable piece of Greek horological history.
Jewellery & Silver
A highlight of the sale is the Ilias Lalaounis jewellery collection, featuring 18K and 22K gold pieces inspired by Mycenaean and Ancient Greek art, alongside finely hand-hammered silver creations.
The section is complemented by works from Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Pampaloni (Firenze), reflecting the timeless dialogue between art and luxury craftsmanship.
Takis – Magnetic Art
The auction also presents a rare group of six works by Takis, the internationally acclaimed pioneer of kinetic and magnetic art.
Among them is a silver ring accompanied by a handwritten note by the artist himself, and the celebrated “Magnetic Ring – Artcurial Edition” (1990), numbered 103/1000, with its complete original certification set.
Chanel – Collectible Evening Bag
Among the auction highlights is the Chanel “Book Evening Bag”, designed in the form of a book, crafted in black suede with metallic gold details.
The iconic “CC” logo and CHANEL lettering on the spine make this one of the brand’s most imaginative and emblematic creations — a fusion of wit, elegance, and haute couture artistry.
The bag is accompanied by its original box, tags, and authenticity card, in mint collector’s condition.
Fine Writing Instruments & Accessories
An elegant selection of writing instruments and men’s accessories from world-renowned houses such as Montblanc, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Zolotas, Kessaris, and S.T. Dupont follows — including rare limited editions and complete presentation sets.
Antiques & The Lily Venizelos Collection
The sale concludes with fine antiques and historical pieces from the collection of Lily Venizelos.
Among them stands out an early 19th-century Danish writing table bearing the royal cypher “G R” beneath a crown, linked to the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle and the reign of King George IV (1823).
Purchased in 1962 at the Grosvenor House Antiques Fair, London, and accompanied by its original provenance documents, this is an exceptional example of Danish Neoclassical furniture with royal provenance.
The Eleftherios Venizelos Collection
Of exceptional historical importance is a 19th-century oil-on-panel painting titled “La Bonne Nouvelle”, originating from the personal collection of Eleftherios Venizelos (1864–1936) — the seven-time Prime Minister of Greece and architect of the modern Greek state.
The finely executed miniature depicts an interior festive scene bathed in warm tones of gold and red, characteristic of 19th-century Romantic painting.
Bearing a handwritten title label on the reverse and accompanied by provenance documentation confirming its ownership by Venizelos himself, the work holds significant cultural and historical value, linking fine art with one of Greece’s most revered statesmen.
The auction features over 200 lots, spanning Greek and European art from the 19th century to the present.
